Infosys to do more lateral hiring in the US

Infosys Technologies will hire more laterals in the US than elsewhere and expects no cutbacks on tech spending there even as stimulus funding tapers off.
The IT major has also opened a new subsidiary in the US called the Infosys Public Services which is focused on leveraging government expenditure.
Infosys Technologies’ Senior Vice-President and Global Head for banking and capital markets, strategic global sourcing, Mr Ashok Vemuri, told Business Line that as the company moves up the value chain, it will hire more laterals in the US market.
He said a bulk of the lateral hiring out of the 8,500 people expected to be recruited this quarter will be in the US.
