Looks like IBM is planning to ramp up their BPO presence in India specifically to address the growing needs of the Indian domestic markets. IBM has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of domestic outsourcing in India and has won a number of deals in the last few years from Indian domestic markets. IBM which has around 14 centers in India is lookin to add around 5,000 people this fiscal. Last fiscal IBM did not add any people and had an overall headcount reduction globally. Recent announcement by Infosys where they have upped their hiring estimates for this year continues to project a growth story for the IT/ITES markets ( although cautious) .
