This article in Financial Times indicates that Capgemini is well on it’s way to have more employees in India. 21,000 employees in India vs 20,000 in France. So will the company be now classified as an Indian Vendor ?

Probably not given that the Indian vendors – TCS, Infosys, Wipro and other still have a minimal presence outside of India even if they claim to have global footprint. E.g. a  mega center as per the new CEO of TCS being created in US will have 1000 employees ( at the most). This is when the total strength of TCS far exceeds 100,000!!

This is a sign of the times though for Consulting, outsourcing vendors where they on one side have to deal with clients with reduced spending and have to manage cost to maintain their margins and are looking at large scale backoffice work to manage outsourcing in India.
