IBM continues to be a leader in domestic Indian IT services market

IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that it has retained its leadership in the India domestic IT services market andregistered a market share of 9.6% for calendar year 2007, according toleading IT market research and advisory firm IDC(1). This was driven bysignificant, large-scale business transformation engagements, signingsacross consulting and application services portfolios and growth inIntegrated Technology Services, Strategic Outsourcing, and Maintenance &Technical Support.
Commenting on the company’s continued market dominance, Nipun Mehrotra,Vice President and General Manager, Global Technology Services, IBMIndia/South Asia, said, “It is indeed a great honor to be recognized as aleader by IDC in the domestic IT services market. Hindustan PetroleumCorporation Ltd (HPCL) – One of the largest RFID implementations in thecountry to help track over half a million gas cylinders through its entiresupply chain.
NorthDelhi Power Limited (NDPL) – Joined the IBM-led global IntelligentUtility Network aimed at accelerating the adoption of ’smart grid’technologies and business solutions.
BhartiRetail – 10-year strategic partnership to provide technology andservices for consolidation, transformation and management of acomprehensive IT infrastructure.
