GE Selects CPM Braxis to Pilot a Global Development Center in Brazil

SOURCE: Press Release
DATE: July 7th, 2008

CPM Braxis, the leading Brazil-based

global IT services and outsourcing company, announced that it has been

selected by GE to establish a pilot Global Development Center.  “GE selected

CPM Braxis because of their focus on quality and their ability to deliver a

world-class development center that can meet GE’s sophisticated program,” said

Joao Lencioni, Latin America CIO for GE Corporate.

CPM Braxis and GE have signed a Master Services Agreement after a four

month RFI process in Brazil.  GE has long been a pioneer in global sourcing.

In the early 1990s, it revolutionized the outsourcing model with its emphasis

on offshoring to India.  Continuing its leading role GE’s current intent is to

balance its outsourcing portfolio across the world, including India, China,

Mexico and now Brazil.  “It will be a great opportunity for GE to assess the

competitiveness of the Brazilian IT industry as we shape the future steps of

our GDC program,” said Lencioni.  “We worked hard on this deal and are proud

to be selected by the world leader in outsourcing,” said Alvi Abuaf, President

of the Global Client Business at CPM Braxis.  “We have a lot to do to meet all

of the requirements of GE but we believe that this will be a transformational

deal for CPM Braxis and will help us achieve our mission of becoming one of

the top IT service providers in the world” Abuaf continued.

According to Jair Ribeiro, CEO of CPM Braxis, “This is not only a major

milestone for CPM Braxis but it also legitimizes the notion of Brazil becoming

a strong alternative to India in the outsourcing industry.”
