Mastek to set up development centres in Chennai

Mumbai-based Mastek, an offshore outsourcing service and IT applications company, is planning to set up four development centres in Chennai. The four centres will be ready in the next three to four years and will create an employment opportunity for 6000 people, according to a company executive.

The company acquired 15 acre of land in Mahindra World City at Maramallai Nagar, 30 kms from Chennai.

The first phase of the project will be ready by September first week and will employee 1500 people, said R S Desikan, group CFO and finance director, Mastek.

By 2011-12 all the four phases will be ready and the company will employee 6000 people, he added. Once the first phase of the project is ready the company will take state government jobs and few insurance companies from both domestic and overseas, said Desikan.
