ACS gets $41M Parkland deal

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has signed a seven-year, $41 million contract to provide information technology outsourcing services to Parkland Health & Hospital System.
Dallas-based ACS (NYSE: ACS) will provide infrastructure services, including data center operations, network monitoring and management, asset tracking and help desk support services.
ACS also will install a disaster recovery system that will securely store critical Parkland clinical data online.
Parkland is one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. The Dallas hospital is licensed for 968 beds, employs 8,000 people and admits about 42,600 patients a year. It has a Level I trauma center, the second largest civilian burn center in the United States and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The system also includes 10 community-based clinics and 11 school-based clinics.
