IBM and Ahold scale up accounting operations in Krakow

IBM and Accounting Plaza, a company that handles accounting processes for Dutch retailer Ahold, are expanding capacity at their accounting centres in Krakow. Both firms have leased additional 3,000 m2 of office space at Krakow’s Edison office complex. Accounting Plaza will hire about 350 new people. IBM did not reveal the extent of new jobs to be created.

Krakow has emerged as a major location for IT, R&D and service centres. Companies which have opened facilities in the city include e.g. Motorola, Shell, Capgemini, Lufthansa, Philip Morris, Ahold and Google. IBM has been present in Krakow for five years. It currently employs 1,600 people there at a software development centre and an accounting centre.
